About Banko
Born to a Puerto Rican mother and Haitian father, this New York-based artist creates art that blends cultural influences with a global perspective. Drawing inspiration from Basquiat and travels around the world, their work explores the essence of culture and human interaction. The artist’s signature gray-toned figures emphasise the universality of the human experience, transcending race. Flowers, symbolizing a deep connection to Mother Nature, frequently appear in their pieces.
This year marks the artist’s second solo show, following a successful collaboration with Rivian in New York City. Their work has been showcased across New York, including Soho, Chelsea, and Hudson Yards, with a recent show in Puerto Rico. The artist’s journey now leads to London, where they look forward to connecting with a new audience.
